Commited to Sustainability
Reduce, reuse, and recycle are the key premises of the circular economy. It is certainly a shared responsibility between packaging manufacturers, consumer goods companies, institutions, and end consumers.
What moves us?
Ródenas & Rivera aims to ensure that in the short term 100% of its products promote the circular economy, contributing to the development of a sustainable society today and in the future.
A growth strategy that adds value to the company, for our customers and society.
Today, packaging for the food industry has attracted a lot of interest and is a priority for us. We have several lines of action, the redesign of conventional materials. We are devoting a lot of resources to achieve our objective and the European Commission’s guidelines.
How do we do it?
We seek to optimize production systems by using new techniques and more eco-friendly raw materials. At the R+D+I department, we strive to find new materials and products that are increasingly eco-friendly and reduce the carbon footprint.
Our starting point is a solid company culture, with clear ideas, driven by the management to offer the best in flexible packaging solutions with high added value.
The entire manufacturing process is considered, from procurement to machinery, investing, and obtaining our materials from more sustainable sources to ensure better recycling and preserve the natural resources.
The circular economy is a business model that involves minimizing resource consumption and waste production and creating a closed loop that allows for reuse, recycling, or composting.
100% Recyclable packaging facilitates recycling.
Monomaterial products. Films based on a single polymer.
Produce flexible films with materials that guarantee optimal recycling is one of the key elements in our progress towards sustainability. Manufacture complex PE or PP films, guaranteeing 100% recyclability.
To make complex structures and provide solutions to the market needs and requirements of packaged products, MDO technology is perfect to replace conventional multilayer structures, whose recyclability is today complicated. This film provides excellent mechanical and optical properties, and very good printing properties.
-Based on PP, it has high performance and high thermal resistance, and barrier properties.
-Based on PE, it still has the high sealing performance, flexibility, and puncture resistance of PE, but with the outer layer resistant to temperature and sealing, allowing it to be machinable.
Increase in recovered and recycled material for manufacturing
Recycled products
Reduction in the use of virgin material and increase in the use of recovered and recycled material for manufacturing. We have suppliers who, thanks to their management of industrial and post-consumer waste, provide the market with high quality pellets for the re-manufacture of PCR (post-consumer recycled) and even PIR (post-industrial recycled) films.
- PE films with PCR
- We have several product lines that integrate part of the waste from the manufacturing process itself.
Renewable materials
Raw materials of vegetable origin
- Biodegradable products
- Compostable or biobased products: the raw materials used are of vegetable origin, such as cellulose and sugar cane. Once the film is discarded and comes into contact with nature, it degrades and becomes biomass.

Thickness reduction, reformulation of materials.
Less is More
Do the same, but with less and get the same results.
Waste generation and energy consumption per package is lower, making the manufacturing process more efficient and sustainable.
